Kelly Gulliver is the Financial Wellbeing (FWC) and Housing Support (HSP) Manager and part of the CatholicCare NT Program Management team. In this role, Kelly leads the:
* FWC team of Financial Counsellors and Case Managers in Darwin and remote, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Tiwi and Wadeye
* HSP Case Managers and Lead Practitioners in Darwin, Katherine and Tennant Creek
* Youth Outreach staff in Tennant Creek.
Kelly has a Team Management background in finance and lending. When she moved to Darwin from Newcastle in early 2013 she wanted a career that enabled her to use those skills to help people with their money problems. Since then Kelly has worked in several community service positions before joining CatholicCare in 2020.
Kelly is passionate about collaborating to design and deliver community specific Financial Wellbeing programs that raise the standard of living and comforts for those experiencing intergenerational poverty. She is dedicated to supporting her teams to help people improve the quality of their lives in urban and remote settings by building financial capacity first. Her mission is to bridge the gap between the rich and poor and end poverty in the NT through connection, education and empowerment.
Kelly’s approach to homelessness is multi-layered with a strong focus on supporting her team and their participants by raising awareness and advocating for more safe, affordable housing first and foremost. At the same time as encouraging strategies in individual practice that see her team walk side by side with their participants to build capacity and reach their housing goals.
In her spare time Kelly enjoys reading, cycling, playing netball and camping adventures with friends and family. She has 3 teenagers to keep her busy and entertained. Kelly is a creative writer and writes and performs poetry and comedy in and around the Top End.
Kelly is currently the NT representative on the Financial Counselling Australia (FCA) Representative Council. She holds a Diploma in Community Services Financial Counselling, a Certificate 4 in Financial Services and a Certificate 4 in Frontline Management.
