Christmas for Kids – Darwin - CatholicCare NT

Creating special Christmas memories does not have to come with a price tag.

The Darwin community is invited to join in the fun at a free family event hosted by CatholicCare NT and the Territory Child Care Group.

CatholicCare NT Director Jayne Lloyd said it was easy to get caught up with the cost of Christmas.

“We recognise for many families Christmas can be financially stressful. So the whole point of this event is for families to create good Christmas memories without forking out the dollars,” she said.

The event has been running since 2007. Last year approximately 2000 people walked through the doors consuming more than 1200 sausages.

Christmas for Kids will be held 10 am until 2 pm on Sunday 14 December, in the air-conditioned comfort of Mararra Indoor Stadium. The Stadium will come alive with a barbeque, jumping castles, craft, entertainment, and more. Best of all it’s all free.

Santa will visit between 12 noon and 1 pm.

Ms Lloyd says it’s a fantastic day and acknowledges grant funding received from the NT Department of Business. “Their generous support helps make this event a reality,” she said.
