Wadeye Celebration - CatholicCare NT

On Saturday 17 April 2021, the 80 year anniversary celebration of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Convent took place in Wadeye.

CatholicCare NT Wadeye staff were in attendance and provided shade, mats, chairs, tea & coffee and celebration cake. Many hours of baking were well rewarded by the smiles on the ladies faces when Murrinh-patha Elder, Adrian Lantjin and Dee Love presented the ladies with the cake.

It was a true celebration with the locals telling stories of their time as children at the mission and stories of their lives out bush. The celebration was well attended by many community members.
