Tomas Hansford is our Men’s Behaviour Change Program Manager and leads the Darwin and Wadeye-based Men’s Behaviour Change Program teams. Tomas first commenced in 2023 with CatholicCare NT as a Men’s Behaviour Change Program Practitioner.
Prior to joining CatholicCare NT, Tomas worked throughout the last 7 years across a range of roles to reduce intersectional inequalities. His passion has led him into many different pockets of society including providing workshops on healthier masculinities, developing diversion and community leadership programs that engage male youth at risk of juvenile crime residing in Melbourne’s public housing estates, supporting advocacy and programs for people seeking asylum, coordinating a grants program exceeding $10 million, completing research and establishing Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks for preventing violent extremism projects in the Middle East, and leading community development programs on reducing AOD harms in the NT.
Tomas completed his Masters of International Development in 2020, his focus for this body of work has been on men, masculinities and the intercultural social structures that impact on families whilst migrating, integrating and forming/re-forming their identity/ies.
Tomas works with a passion to supporting families and communities to thrive and men to be engaged in creating greater safety both inside and outside of the home.
