Sharen Lake is a member of CatholicCare NT’s senior leadership team in her position as the Regional Manager. Born in Alice Springs and relocating to Tennant Creek over 20 years ago, she has a strong understanding and connection to the region.
Sharen’s background includes working with the Commonwealth and Local Governments, extensively within the Indigenous Affairs and Community Services portfolios. Working in national reforms areas that included focus areas of; improving child and family health; supporting families; enhancing education; welfare reform and employment; housing and land reform; and coordination. Sharen has a strong ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to strengthen their community.
In 2013, Sharen was named Barnardo’s NT Mother of the Year for her work with young children in Tennant Creek. She has a passion for strengthening families, safe communities and working to build capacity of individuals and the community and says “there is nothing more rewarding than seeing people progressing, seeing families together and happy”.
Attracted to CatholicCare NT by their strong mission and values, she saw a great opportunity to work back at the grass roots level and support making the differences in community members lives.
Sharen has undertaken training in Project Management, Community Engagement, and Leadership. She is currently studying her Batchelor of Psychological Science.
