Sandra Jonah - CatholicCare NT

Sandra Jonah is our AOD, Gambling & Mental Health Manager with a portfolio including alcohol and other drugs programs, Gambling Project, Suicide Prevention Project (Taking Action Tackling Suicide), Mental health Programs as well as the Children’s Contact Services.

Sandra’s background started in health with a 4 year honors Degree in Microbiology. She went from working in a medical laboratory, to a petrochemical laboratory. She discovered a passion for working with vulnerable and marginalised people when she moved on to work in correctional services in her home country.

Before moving to Darwin Sandra also worked in NDIS, AOD, Mental Health, Gambling and Family Law Services. She is passionate about social justice, equitable service delivery and staff development, with a focus on supporting and mentoring developing Social Workers.

Sandra has since added a Masters degree in Health Services Management and a Masters in Social Work with additional training to further develop and upskill in the field. She is an active accredited member of AASW and working towards further accreditation in Supervision and Family Violence.
