Chamari Alaharuwan is the Regional Manager for Alice Springs and South East Alice Springs. She provides leadership and support to deliver the Community Development Program, Remotes School Attendance Strategy and NO MORE Campaign in remote communities.
Chamari is originally from Sri Lanka and began her career as an Attorney at Law and is a member of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka. Chamari holds Bachelor of Arts (Political Science Special) degree.
Chamari moved to Australia in 2012 and joined CatholicCare NT in 2014. During her employment with CatholicCare NT, Chamari has completed her Certificate IV in Employment Services and Diploma in Leadership and Management. Chamari has held various positions in Employment Services and has recently taken on the new challenge as Acting Regional Manager.
Chamari is passionate about strengthening and empowering job seekers by building skills, addressing barriers to employment, finding employment for job seekers, mentoring job seekers to stay in employment and contributing to communities. Chamari finds helping people build better lives through CatholicCare NT services rewarding.
