Amy Harrison has been with CatholicCare since January 2021. Amy is part of the Program Management team in the role of Early Childhood Education and Care Manager and oversees our remote child care centres.
Arriving in the NT in 2010 as a graduate teacher, Amy has worked in Top End urban and remote government schools as a primary and preschool teacher, literacy and early years coach, Families as First Teachers family educator and assistant principal. She holds a Bachelor of Business, Graduate Diploma in Teaching & Learning, Graduate Certificate in TESOL and Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Studies.
Amy has two young daughters, is a volunteer breastfeeding educator and is on the board of a local school.
Amy is inspired by the deep capacity for empathy, insight and joy that young children have and is passionate about honouring each child’s journey of childhood. She is dedicated to an early childhood model that recognises children as the experts in their own lives, that privileges community knowledges and languages, and that supports families in their daily life.
