Loraine House is CatholicCare NT’s Senior Member of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence. Loraine came to CatholicCare NT in 2024 with 20 years’ experience in lecturing, clinical supervision, counselling and group facilitation.
Loraine ran a successful clinical supervision and counselling service in South Australia. She has worked as an educator, teaching Mental Health/Illnesses at Flinders University Paramedic Degree and the Diploma of Counselling/Diploma of Mental Health at TAFE SA. She worked in the eating disorder sector for several years and was awarded a Distinguished Achievement Award by the Australian & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED).
In her role as Senior Member of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence, Loraine’s expertise is utilised to support participant outcomes such as increased family safety and improved family functioning and wellbeing. She is responsible for a portfolio of contracts including Men’s Behaviour Change, No More, General Offenders Program, Youth Behaviour Change Program, Female Wellness Groups and Domestic Family Violence Safe Houses.
Loraine is a Registered Clinical Member of Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and a Level 4 registered professional member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and is an accredited clinical individual and group supervisor with these peak bodies. Loraine holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science; Graduate Diploma of Counselling (Addictions; Family Therapy; Loss & Grief); Diploma of Counselling; Diploma of Mental Health; Dual Diploma of VET/TDD; Diploma of Management a Graduate Certificate of Adult Education (Training) and a Diploma of Human Resources Management. She is currently completing a PhD at Flinders University.
