CatholicCare NT’s Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Services team supports the wellbeing and safety of individuals, in particular women and children, through the provision of broad-based counselling, case management, safety planning and education.
Who can access DFV Services?
People who are impacted by or at risk of being impacted by DFV, living in Greater Darwin, Daly River (Nauiyu), Milikapiti and Wurrumiyanga (limited outreach). A risk assessment and intake process is conducted with the participant on commencement to inform service delivery.
How we help
The service aims to:
* Assist victim/survivors to manage the ongoing impacts and trauma of DFV through the provision of counselling, information/education, referral, and support including safety planning.
* Provide supports that reduce the impact and incidence of DFV and strengthen participants capacity to make informed choices to improve their safety and wellbeing.
* Provide learning opportunities through group work in both urban and remote community settings to promote healthy respectful relationships.
What is the referral process?
Individuals, family members and service providers can refer people to this service. If you would like to make a referral to our DFV Services team please email intake@catholiccarent.org.au or call on 89442000 and ask to speak to our Intake worker.
