NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) - CatholicCare NT

The NDIS looks to improve the lives of people living with a disability. NDIS Helps those with a disability (participants) to have choice and control with the services and supports they need and reasonably desire. Once access is granted by the NDIS, a plan is developed containing funds for services and support related to their goals in life. This funding allows participants to have greater independence, access more places, including getting a job and facilities and lead a good quality of life.

How we Help

A Person Centred Approach that is tailored to your needs and desires is our way of assisting you with the following support types in your NDIS plan:

• Coordination of Support: Making sure you get the services/supports you want both with providers and especially in the community
• Counselling: Both individually and in groups to suit your needs
• Participation in the Community: Accompanying and/or assisting you to find and access activities you like to do both in the community and with groups of your choice.
• Development of Life Skills/ Transition: such as shopping, attending appointments, budgeting, taking part in social activities etc.
• Finding and maintaining work
• Household and Garden tasks

Group supports and group programs are also available for some of these supports.

What is the Referral Process

It is your choice! You can access CatholicCare NT by directly contacting our service or asking your Coordination Of Support (COS) worker to get in touch with us. You may also talk to your NDIS planner and or Local Area Coordinator.

Is there a Cost?

There is no cost for any of our supports or assistance. The only thing you may have to pay for is entrance to event such as the movies or the price of catching public transport.

• Tennant Creek
• Tiwi Islands
