We are thrilled to announce that on Wednesday, 9th April 2025, our NDIS accessible van was officially relocated to Amata in the APY Lands, just across the South Australian border. This is a major milestone in CatholicCare NT’s ongoing commitment to delivering quality support to participants in remote communities.
The van, specifically designed to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges, will be a game-changer for many in the region. With several participants supported by the Independent Living Centre being wheelchair-bound, this vehicle opens up new possibilities — not just for attending local appointments and events, but also for travelling to places like Alice Springs for much-needed respite.
Access to reliable, inclusive transport means more than just convenience — it’s about freedom, dignity, and independence. This van gives participants greater control over their daily lives, reduces isolation, and strengthens ties to the broader community.
We can’t wait to see the positive impact this accessible van will have on the lives of those we support in Amata.
